What I love most about Surc is that it can learn every single remote. Not just your TV and A/V remotes, but AC and air purifiers etc. When I learned about Surc I just about fell out of my chair because I'd been looking for exactly that for quite some time.

My group and I are born storytellers. We don’t feel right unless we’re inventing worlds or characters to share with everyone thats why we have 7 main characters. Not only that, it is fun! (although at times very challenging) but the challenge of doing series lets you develop character and helps develop your own unique producing/directing/acting/etc style

Yeah, Mike did a great review. Unfortunately I sent him one with a lousy finish on it, but that problem has been largely solved. Good call Matt, I completely agree but we may not see the reality you outline until 2013 or 2014. Let's hope it's 2012 though! There is tons of potential for short film and web series sales/rentals in the years ahead for sure! The marketing aspect will be the most challenging part though as artists are typically creatives and not marketers/sellers, so let's forecast that companies will pop up to sell this content acting as middlemen.

Hoping that some big player(s) in 2012 can effectively bring streaming rental business options to the user/homebrew market, allowing anyone to create content and monetize it through easy small payment online rentals. YouTube has this in beta, but there still is room for HDTV viewing of online content/infinite channels of open market content where the creators get all the profits through online rental. I am hoping that Youtube, Vimeo, GoogleTV, Apple, or all of the above get this right - There is a massive groundswell of new content being made right now that could give regular television/cable distribution a run for their money -> all created OUTSIDE of their system.

Why would people pay to see this content? Because it's really good, fun to watch, and it sits neatly in a channel on their SmartTV.

Messaging has always been challenging since Spidvid is a new concept but we are refining over time to be more clear and concise. When we launch Spidvid 2 next month we will do our best to capture Spidvid in as few words as possible for improved clarity.

So when a project is completed that resulting video or film is uploaded via Spidvid to UnleashVideo.com but all content can be also uploaded to YouTube, and whatever video sharing site is desired externally.

For your bidding question, it's simply talent bidding on video creators and filmmakers projects. A bid can be offering time and talent towards a project in exchange for acknowledgement in the credits, revenue sharing, or rev. sharing and cash. We don't offer an internal payment system yet so all talent payment deals have to be done outside of our site i.e. on PayPal.

We pay $1/1,000 video views that result on UnleashVideo.com so if a Spidvid team has 4 people and each individual gets a rev. share of 25%, if 1,000,000 views were attained over time then each individual would earn $250.

I'm very interested in the spidvid community, but I still don't have a clear grasp of the concept. Is the community only for online videos served by (? I forget the name of your affiliated video site) or can spidvid be used to assemble a team for an offline project?

I need to form a team to help produce a video I'm shooting this year while on a cross-country cycling tour. I'm gathering sponsors for this nonprofit production, so there will be a modest budget to share with co-producers.

How does bidding/ revenue share work? I feel your site has great potential, but I'd recommend refining the marketing/documentation/usability. Thanks for taking the time to respond to my post.
